The Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras is a broad-based coalition of homeless housing and emergency shelter providers, consumers, advocates and government representatives, working together to shape planning and decision-making around the issue of homelessness.

Since 2014, the Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras (HRCS) has provided leadership and coordination of Placer and Nevada County's Continuum of Care planning process.  The HRCS is a private non-profit partnership working to ensure comprehensive, regional coordination of efforts and resources to reduce the number of persons who are homeless, as well as the number of persons at risk of homelessness.

The mission of the Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras

(CA-515 Continuum of Care) is:
To lead, collaborate, coordinate, develop, and implement strategies and resources to end homelessness in Nevada and Placer Counties.

Continuum of Care Competition

In order to apply for funding under the CoC Competitive Program, agencies must participate in a comprehensive collaborative application process.  Each CoC consolidates community-wide information into a single, and large, application submission to HUD.  In Placer and Nevada Counties, the Homeless Resource Council of the Sierras serves as the lead agency for homelessness prevention, housing and shelter.
